When you see that someone has updated ZERO times and is following thousands of people, why in the name of all that is Twitter would you follow them? Because you'll follow anyone. You are a Twitter lemming. Of course, Twitter lemmings could just be twammers doing what they do.
WordPress is free. Every WP plugin I've ever seen or used is free. So when you create a plugin and throw up a donation button, don't expect your PayPal account to start busting at the seams. Oh, but you wrote a "subscribers-only" plugin, hoping to get people to pay for content? Ah, I think I'm seeing a pattern here...
http://omnomnomnom.com is pretty funny, but this one was too tasteless for me. Yeah, it's more than six years later, but I'm still not ready to joke about thousands of civilians being incinerated or crushed to death in the name of religion.
We saw a ball of something on the road and swerved around it, realizing it was a hedgehog as we went past. Latvia has a lot of these things, but its cuteness required us to pull over and remove it from the middle of the road. A friend nudged it with his foot and it rolled, almost spherical, to the shoulder. When I knelt to take a picture it slowly raised its head and peeked out, snuffling at me, but snapped it down instantly when I stood back up. This is the biggest hedgehog I've seen — about a foot long uncurled.
That was my reaction upon seeing the "Friendship Accepted" subject line in my inbox. Only the e-mail address clarified that it was from Brightkite. For branding and usability, not to mention avoiding spam filters, they might want to sprinkle a few more "Brightkites" in here. Otherwise, the beta is looking good. I only wish I could test it out more fully here in Latvia, but maybe someday.
