For the record, this is what I actually said to Gerald Bauer.

Peter, you may now see something of similar origins to Gerald's misguided attacks towards anyone and anything in his way of ruling whatever he self declares himself to govern.
Gerald, I am sorry that yet another iteration of the Ruby/Rails scene (and open source community) has suffered your influence. Just glad I am no longer apart of it.
Good luck Peter! Hope the fragments of what's left of yet another self centred attack by Gerald on the group can mature into something worth while again.
From what I have learned and witnessed, there are many out there (whether they are a single entity or a corporate entity) looking to control the Ruby/Rails scene in Vancouver. Most figure they must tear down what exists so they can rule. But in the end, all those that attempt to do this, defeat themselves and leave the community with more threads of history with little to show for it.
