Quick port of the Facebook AIR Desktop app to Titanium.  The AIR desktop app is written in pure ActionScript and the Titanium is written in 100% open web: HTML, JavaScript, CSS.

The Titanium runs constantly at effectively 0% CPU.  The AIR app runs constantly at 2-3% CPU (with spikes) and never falls below 2%.  The Titanium app almost never goes above 3%.

Notice the resident private memory of 17MB (Titanium) vs. 135MB (AIR).  The AIR apps seems to grow with time and Titanium stays at 17MB.

This is not yet a full port of the app but mostly a prototype of the new FB Connect API coming in Titanium Desktop.  I plan on adding support for full screen video, image galleries, notifications, tray icon minimization, etc.

Please consider Titanium for your next desktop or mobile application and please spread the word.  http://www.appcelerator.com.
